AHMEDABAD, GUJARAT — Ahead of the Gujarat local body elections scheduled for April 26, senior leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), including Gujarat BJP President Jagdish Vishwakarma and Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, expressed strong confidence in securing a decisive victory, citing widespread public support and the party’s development record.
Addressing the media in Ahmedabad, Vishwakarma stated that the BJP has consistently enjoyed the support of the people of Gujarat for the past two to two-and-a-half decades. He said that the same positive political atmosphere is visible during the ongoing local Swaraj election campaign, indicating continued trust in the party.
He pointed to the large crowds attending public events and rallies, particularly those involving Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, as a clear sign of strong voter backing. According to him, the enthusiastic public response reflects appreciation for the government’s development initiatives across the state.
Vishwakarma expressed confidence that the BJP will achieve a significant victory in the upcoming elections, attributing this expectation to the party’s consistent focus on development and governance. Speaking during the campaign, Patel said that the “overwhelming love” of the public is with the BJP, and expressed confidence that this support will translate into a landslide victory in the elections.
