GRAM 2026: Rajasthan CM Bhajanlal Sharma Invites Investors in Ahmedabad, Showcases ‘Living Lab’ for Agritech

Date:

AHMEDABAD, GUJARAT – In a significant move to strengthen the agricultural ties between neighboring states and attract global investment, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma hosted the Global Rajasthan Agritech Meet (GRAM) 2026 Investor Meet in Ahmedabad. Held on April 30, 2026, the event served as a high-profile roadshow to invite Gujarat’s business community to the upcoming main summit in Jaipur scheduled for May 23–25, 2026.

The meet, organized in collaboration with FICCI, highlighted Rajasthan’s emerging status as a “living lab” for agricultural technology, focusing on innovation, sustainability, and the “double-engine” growth model.

Bridging the Gujarat-Rajasthan Synergy

Addressing a gathering of leading entrepreneurs, agricultural experts, and policymakers, Chief Minister Sharma emphasized the cultural and economic proximity of Gujarat and Rajasthan. He noted that Ahmedabad, often referred to as Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Karmabhoomi,” provided the perfect backdrop to showcase the successful “Gujarat Model” of development, which Rajasthan is now adapting to revolutionize its farm sector.

Key Highlights: Shree Anna, Solar, and Water Harvesting

The Chief Minister’s address touched upon several strategic pillars aimed at modernizing Rajasthan’s rural economy:

  • Shree Anna (Millets): Highlighting Rajasthan as a leader in millet production, Sharma spoke on the high nutritional value and global demand for “Shree Anna,” urging investors to look into specialized processing units.
  • Solar Energy: With Rajasthan being a frontrunner in solar power, the CM discussed the state’s goal to provide daytime electricity to farmers in all districts by 2027, reducing the burden of night-time irrigation.
  • Water Conservation: A major infrastructure project is underway to install water harvesting systems in 40,000 villages, ensuring long-term sustainability for arid-zone farming.
  • Technological Integration: The government is actively seeking investments in drone-based agriculture, AI-driven crop assessment, and advanced cold-chain logistics.

A Vision for ‘Viksit Rajasthan’

The Ahmedabad meet is part of a nationwide outreach program that has already seen successful sessions in New Delhi and Bengaluru. The Chief Minister revealed that during previous investor interactions, MoUs worth approximately ₹44,000 crore have been signed in the agriculture sector alone, with over ₹9,000 crore already transitioning into the implementation phase.

The main GRAM 2026 summit in Jaipur is expected to host over 75,000 farmers, 250+ exhibitors, and delegations from South Asia, Europe, and Australia. The event aims to provide a platform for B2B and B2G meetings, fostering an ecosystem where startups can thrive alongside traditional farming practices.

The Road to Jaipur

Accompanied by Agriculture Minister Dr. Kirodi Lal and Animal Husbandry Minister Joraram Kumawat, the Chief Minister held one-on-one discussions with trade representatives and startups in Ahmedabad. He assured them of a “Red Carpet” welcome in Rajasthan, promising streamlined clearances and a robust policy framework to protect and grow their investments.

By focusing on value addition and agri-processing, Rajasthan aims to not only increase the state’s GDP but also significantly enhance the per-capita income of its farming community. As the Ahmedabad meet concluded, the sentiment was clear: Rajasthan is no longer just a land of heritage, but a burgeoning frontier for high-tech, sustainable agriculture.
