The Gujarat government is providing ₹1.6 lakh in financial assistance to eligible registered construction workers under the Shree Nanaji Deshmukh Awas Yojana. The scheme is implemented by the Gujarat Building and Other Construction Workers’ Welfare Board (GBOCWWB) to help low-income workers own affordable homes.
To receive the housing assistance, applicants must meet the following conditions:
- Be a registered construction worker with the Gujarat Building and Other Construction Workers’ Welfare Board.
- Have been registered with the Board for at least two years.
- Have been allotted a house under:
- Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), or
- Chief Minister Awas Yojana (CMAY).
- The allotted house should fall under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) or Low Income Group (LIG) category.
- Apply after one year from the date of house allotment.
- Neither the worker, spouse, nor any family member should own any other land, house, or property.
- The benefit is available only once per family. If a house is jointly allotted to husband and wife, either spouse may claim the benefit provided one of them is a registered construction worker.
Eligible beneficiaries receive:
- ₹1.6 lakh as financial assistance towards home ownership.
The scheme aims to improve housing security and living conditions for construction workers across Gujarat.
Eligible workers can apply through the Gujarat Building and Other Construction Workers’ Welfare Board after satisfying the eligibility conditions.
Applicants typically need to:
