AHMEDABAD, GUJARAT — AIMIM chief and MP Asaduddin Owaisi addressed a public rally in Ahmedabad ahead of the upcoming local self-government elections, focusing on key issues affecting local communities.
Speaking at the rally, Owaisi said that municipal elections are important because they deal directly with everyday issues faced by citizens, including basic services, infrastructure, and livelihood concerns.
He highlighted concerns related to the Qureshi community, noting that a significant number of its members live in the area. He said that there is a need to establish a new slaughterhouse in Ahmedabad to support their livelihoods and ensure that they can carry out their work without difficulties.
Owaisi alleged that members of the community often face problems while transporting livestock, claiming that they are stopped under various reasons. He also accused groups associated with cow protection activities of creating obstacles in their work.
According to him, these issues are directly connected to local governance and political leadership, and should be addressed through proper policies and administrative action. He urged voters to consider such ground-level concerns while participating in the elections.
He emphasised that local bodies play a key role in resolving community-specific problems, and said that elected representatives must focus on practical solutions that improve people’s daily lives.
The rally is part of AIMIM’s campaign efforts in Gujarat, where the party is trying to expand its presence in local elections by raising issues related to livelihoods and community welfare.
Asaduddin Owaisi’s speech reflects a focus on local governance issues, especially those affecting specific communities, as political campaigning intensifies ahead of the civic polls.
