MUNDRA, GUJARAT – In a grand celebration marked by nostalgia and a vision for the future, Dr. Priti Adani, Chairperson of the Adani Foundation, led the silver jubilee celebrations of Adani Public School (APS), Mundra. The event, held on Monday, commemorated 25 years of the institution’s commitment to academic excellence and community development in the Kutch region.
Reflecting on the school’s inception in 2001, Dr. Adani described the milestone as far more than just a calendar date. She emphasized that the school’s journey has been a “legacy in motion,” evolving from a modest dream into one of the premier CBSE institutions in the region.
A Journey Forged in Resilience
The history of Adani Public School is deeply intertwined with the resilience of the Kutch community. While the project was already on the drawing board in early 2001, the devastating Gujarat earthquake of that year served as a catalyst for its rapid execution. In the aftermath of the disaster, the school emerged as a beacon of stability and hope for families rebuilding their lives.
Since its first batch of 233 students and 27 teachers, the school has witnessed exponential growth. Today, it serves over 2,300 students and employs more than 100 educators. The celebrations brought together generations of alumni who have gone on to excel in diverse fields including academics, business, defense, and the performing arts.
Strengthening Infrastructure for a Future-Ready Education
To mark the 25th anniversary, the Adani Foundation unveiled significant upgrades to the school’s infrastructure, aimed at fostering holistic development:
- State-of-the-Art Auditorium: A new 558-seat auditorium was inaugurated, making it one of the largest and most modern facilities in the Kutch district.
- Indoor Sports Complex: A new complex featuring facilities for badminton, pickleball, and table tennis was launched to encourage physical literacy and competitive sportsmanship among students.
- STEM and Robotics Excellence: The event featured exhibitions showcasing students’ work in robotics and STEM, highlighting the school’s shift toward experiential and future-ready learning models.
Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, also shared his reflections on the milestone, noting that the 25-year journey honors “dreams nurtured and futures shaped.” He expressed his hope that students would leave the institution not just with degrees, but with the “resilience to rise after every fall” and a sense of responsibility toward society.
Expanding the Footprint of Education
The success of APS Mundra serves as a blueprint for the Adani Foundation’s broader educational mission. The Foundation currently manages a network of 43 schools across India, primarily in rural and underserved areas. Through initiatives like the Utthan Project, the Foundation has been working to improve learning outcomes in government schools by providing Sahayaks (teacher assistants), digital learning tools, and smart classrooms.
As the silver jubilee celebrations concluded with the school anthem, the atmosphere was one of renewed commitment. Dr. Priti Adani lauded the past and present principals and staff for their roles in shaping the institution’s success.
For the community of Mundra, Adani Public School remains a testament to the power of purpose-led education. As the school enters its next quarter-century, its focus remains clear: preparing the next generation of Indian leaders to dream without limits while staying rooted in the values of humility and service.
